Dental Group Band officially formed on March 22, 1994. The band initially consisted of Group Armand Maulana (vocals), Thomas Ramdhan (bassist), Dewa Budjana (guitarist), Ronald Fristianto (drummer), and Baron Arafat (guitarist). The name "Gigi" itself emerged after a hearty laugh personnel comment on the name "Orang Utan" which almost made the band name. With background music of different backgrounds, they combine into a single music that characterized his teeth. Debut album entitled "Angan" thrown into the market with the support of the Union Artist / Musica. At that time, Gigi has not formed a management company to manage their activities so as to promote the debut album, they released two singles as well as video clips, that I want and Angan. But the two songs are not much reliable boost sales figures. Lack of promotion and lack of management of management is a major cause of failure of this music group's first album.
Eventually they formed the Dental Management so that they become more professional. The second album "The World" was a success in the market. By relying on top-seeded song "Promise", which sold about 400,000 copies and won the award for "Best Music Group." At this time occurred a rift with management Teeth Baron. Video clips second mainstay song "Nirvana" was made without the Baron. In September 1995, Baron has officially left the band Dental Group. Then followed the release of Thomas and Ronald who in November 1996. Finally Dental Group Band only were alone but still trying to survive and recruit Opet Alatas (bassist) and drummer Haryono Budhy). This new formation give new color on the teeth. In 1997 they released their fourth album is themed 2x2 by holding a number of famous musicians, local and world, Among others, Billy Sheehan (Mr. Big) who contributed a great play bass on their songs (Cry Baby), and Indra Lesmana also contributed to the song "Tractor". Mainstay song "miss" was not responded to the public. This situation helped with the tour of 100 cities featuring duet Gilang Ramadhan Indra Lesmana and as the opening.
Meanwhile, Thomas had just come out of rehabilitation to return to Jakarta to start playing music again. Thomas even made a surprise by becoming a guest star in concert DENTAL "One Hour With Teeth" and Dental concert in Bandung, playing with the song "Promise" and "Angan". In concert with Thomas Dental feel nostalgic, they even brought a rare song that is played Desire. On March 22, 1999 Thomas eventually go back into music Group Dental. Not long after that Gigi sixth album titled "Good" in April 1999. His first flagship song is "Hinakah".
